Gone

Today we left Johan and Helena's house in the country and headed back to Stockholm.  Traveling with two young children is a huge pain in the ass, in case you were blissfully unaware.  Kids like to cry when they don't get their way.  Also their carseats take up way too much room.  But all of that traveling was really not the most significant part of my day, even though it took a significant part of my day.

A revaluation came upon me as we were leaving: leaving sucks.  It is one thing to go home from a hotel or a beach house, but when you are staying with PEOPLE you get to know them, and then you have to leave them.  And all of the people we have stayed with have been good, kind people, and leaving has been pretty shitty.

It has been worth it because we have met a lot of people, but we have done an awful lot of leaving on this trip.

These are carvings we stopped to see on the way back to Stockholm.  They are over 1000 years old.  There are letters from from ancient language, or else some really old swedish, carved into the snake that documents who made the carvings and for whom.  The carver and his brother made it for a third brother.

By the time we got back to Stockholm, I think we were all tired and tired of being in a small space.  I watched the kids while Moo Moo and Ali unloaded the car.  Not a bad deal, except for one small catch.  I gave my nephew my iPhone so he could play a game, and somehow or another he managed to reset my profile on NinjaFishing.

This sounds really stupid, and truthfully it is, but I spend HOURS on this game, and it was erased, all that time and work, just gone in seconds.  Sucks.  But really thats what I get for giving my phone to a 6 year old.

I helped to make dinner (they let me use sharp knives again) but I didn't stay to eat it, thank god.  I love my family, but sometimes it is good to get a little space, plus it is a bit hard to be such a middle age.  Not a child, but also not quite an adult, so I was thrilled to go hang out with Vanja and Jessica again.

We went to Vanja's mom's house and just hung out for a bit, chatting, then we ordered pizza and watched a movie! It was so much fun to be with people my age, and Jessica and Vanja are really great girls so it was really nice!

Ludda... finally got the name! Jessica taught him to high five! so, so cute!!!

After that Vanja and I came back to Therese and Magnus' place and blissfully the kids had already been put to bed! After making some quick calls to some super special people from home and now writing this, I am please to inform you that I will be going to bed!
